Love of Learning

Our academic program is a rich tapestry of core subjects, electives, and unique guidance. The Minnesota State Standards curriculum includes essential core subjects like math, science, reading/writing, and social studies, taught by dedicated teachers who guide the same group of students throughout the day. Electives are deeply rooted in Hmong culture, including courses in HMong-focused physical education, language, and visual arts that emphasize traditional HMong patterns and designs. Tailored lessons in our innovative ‘Foundations’ advisory class assist students in organization and career planning, easing their transition from middle school to high school. To enrich learning, our students participate in field trips to significant HMong cultural locations like HMong Village, Phalen Lake, and the HMong Museum, developing a deep connection with their community and heritage.

Healthy social-emotional skills thrive in an environment rooted in positivity and respect. Txuj Ci provides activities, events, and performances featuring Hmong culture in our auditorium, courtyard, gardens, and multicultural kitchen. Teachers, counselors, social workers, and support staff work together to provide lessons that help students navigate peer conflict, friendships, bullying, stress, and anxiety and support them to build successful relationships both in and out of school. We’re eager to show you how Txuj Ci cherishes our students' roots while looking confidently toward the future.
